The future plans for this blog…
[I know that the title sounds overly dramatic. Sorry about that.]
Insha-Allah, I’ll soon be putting up resources for the last ten nights of Ramadan (including stuff on itikaaf and Laylatul Qadr), Zakaatul Fitr and Eid. I’ll also continue putting up the terribly long, wordy, vitriolic Teensie-Weensie Reminders. (I’ll try not to start with a rant next time.)
Why would I put up Eid stuff so early, you ask? Because I’ll stop blogging on the 2oth of Ramadan, insha-Allah. That’s when the last 10 nights begin and I don’t want to spend them blogging. My PC is going to remain switched off for this duration, insha-Allah. (Or at least I’ll try to keep it switched off!)
Will that be the end of the blog, you ask? No. After Eid, I plan to put up lectures and articles that discuss the ending of Ramadan, insha-Allah.
Also, I’ll be putting up information on issues like the fasts of Shawwal and making up missed fasts (I think we all need to start an online club because I know SO many people who still have days pending from their previous Ramadans).
I’ll also send out reminders for days that are good for fasting like the middle of the month (13th-15th), Dhul Hijjah, Muharram, etc. I’ll also try to send out some general weekly reminders as well, insha-Allah.
(What about a weekly “Remember Ramadan” series? We really need to sustain the Ramadan spirit for the whole year. We could also have a weekly guest post where a brother or sister looks back at their Ramadan and and discusses what they have managed to gain from it.)
Obviously, I won’t be blogging every day because: 1) There’s no need to and 2) I have three other blogs with more coming up, insha-Allah, so I need to work on those as well.
Why am I telling you all this? Well because:
1) If you are looking for any sort of resource, then please ask me before the 20th of Ramadan.
2) If there’s an issue that you want me to address, again please ask me before the 20th of Ramadan.
3) Is there anything that you’d like to see on this blog post-Ramadan? Would you like the reminders? Would you even check the blog post-Ramadan?
So, please let me know what you think. And remember your comment does make a difference. I can’t read minds so I don’t know what you want to read. I can only see things from my perspective, not yours.
Also, there are others who just never comment on blogs. I’m like that so I can understand. I don’t comment no matter how much I loved or hated the article.
[Note: Please don’t think that I’m fishing for compliments with my request for your comments. If you like the blog, then that’s great but please don’t tell me. Alhamdulillah, there are a few others who already told me and that’s more than enough. Praise should always be limited otherwise it can kill the heart.
What I meant by “your comments” was: suggestions, constructive criticism, queries about resources, etc.]
So, I’m looking forward to hearing from you and hoping to see NEW people commenting. (Not that I mind the regular commentators commenting.)
As I said before, this is OUR blog, not just my blog. And no, these are not just words. I mean it.
