A Pictorial Summary of the amount of preparation most of us have done so far for next Ramadan…

by Umm Muawiyah

Assalamu Alaikum.

The early generations used to start preparing for Ramadan 6 months in advance.

6 months in advance.

Ramadan is 5.5 months away.

So, just how much have we prepared?

What are waiting for anyway? Shaban?

Well, if truth be told, yes we are…

Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmathullahi wa barakathuh.

Subhan Allah, I’ve been considering emailing you (to check if you were still alive).

      Welcome back.

I’m fine, alhamdulillah. What about you?

Wa iyyaki. I’m glad that you liked it (and I think you’ll like my future plans even more – an email will be coming soon, insha-Allah.)

No classes at the moment and none planned for this year. Sorry…

      Are you back in Dubai??

    Salam,

They say a picture paints a 1000 words, yours hit hard. Allahmdillah. One has to ask (the one who is asking is the same sister who asked for your Tennis article, its ok I am still patient, I hope u do it soon inshallah as it will be time to read the part 1 again). What are some of the ways that they prepared?

I am aware of reading dua to ask to reach ramadan, other acts are reading Quran frequently inshallah, and fast the white days (13, 14, 15). But what about internal preparation of the heart? How does one get ready in that way? Maybe you could suggest a timetable that will help people to be more actual.

May allah bless your blog, I do think its lovely!

      Wa Alaikum Assalam.

“Hits hard” – I’ll take that as a good thing….

Yes, I recognized the “Anon” and the email address. Sigh, I hope that I get around to finishing it soon, insha-Allah. My apologies for the never ending delay.

That’s a good question. As far as I know they would do due and increase in their ibaadah. As for the exact ways, then I’ll need to more research. Jazakillahu kheira for the great question.

Well, the inner actions and outer actions are not to be separated. For example, what does pondering over the Quran do? It strengthens one’s heart. Insha-Allah, I’ll address this point later on in one of the posts.

Yes, insha-Allah, I was planning to do a step-by-step approach for all of us to get ready for Ramadan.

Jazakillahu kheira and ameen to your dua.
