In case you’re wondering why that name sounds so familiar, it’s because he is a pretty popular daee who appears on many channels. He graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah.
And he’s giving a lecture tomorrow in Dubai.

I mentioned the Ramadan forum in an earlier post.
It seems that they have Arabic lectures too. One of their speakers is Shaikh Muhammad Al-Arifi. He’s the author of “Enjoy Your Life”. You can download it from my other blog (it’s on the right hand side).
He narrated the funniest story that I have ever heard (a true story):
Here’s the email I got about the website details:
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
All praise belongs to Allah, Who has given us such a blessed month of Mercy and Forgiveness.
The Ramadan Tent in Twar, famous for their Arabic lectures for the past 8 years, will also feature English lectures from well-renowned speakers on the 11th – 17th of Ramadhan (21st-27th of August).
Information you can find on the site:
– News and updates about the event
– All the events hosted by DTCM (Charity Caravan, Sonapur Labour Camp Iftar Tent, Blood Bank, Competitions, and more)
– Printer-friendly schedule (including dates, speakers, and titles of lectures)
– Biographies of all the speakers
– Interactive Google Location map
… and much more!
You can also watch videos of last year’s Arabic lectures here.
Please forward to as many people as possible. Spread the word around and may you be rewarded for any person who attends and gains knowledge through your efforts.
As mentioned in an earlier post, we do have lots going on in the UAE (especially in Dubai, although people from outside have this misconception that we only have tall buildings and disco clubs here!)
Sister Eman’s talk is tomorrow: http://alhudasisters.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/ramadan-between-sabr-shukr/
[Update: Please note the change in venue.]
For those sisters that are working and can’t attend in the mornings, Sister Qadria (who’s supposed to be as awesome as Sister Eman) will be having a talk tonight at 8:45 pm in the Dubai Ladies Club.
Please spread the word.
Been waiting for Ramadan Prep lectures (live ones I mean)? Well, so have I. Finally, everyone has woken up, alhamdulillah (with 6 days to go).
People keep complaining that “we have no lectures here (in the UAE) “.
We have lectures in Arabic, Urdu and English not to mention Chinese, Tagalog, Malayalam, etc. Sadly, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman are really underrated by many when it comes to seeking Islamic knowledge. There’s so much going on. Sadly, most people are unaware of this.
So, what’s happening before Ramadan?
[Note: There’s probably more stuff going on than mentioned in this post. The really awful thing about us here in the Emirates is that when the time comes for us to share information, we’re as slow as the good old days when they used pigeons. It’s a total disgrace.]
For those in Ajman (and Sharjah), there’s a lecture TONIGHT in Preston University:
For those in Dubai, the Jumeirah Islamic Learning Centre (JILC) has a lecture series TONIGHT and tomorrow (registration is required):
The Messenger Muhammad (pbuh) said:
*Virtues of Ramadan *Fiqh of fasting with Q &A

with our esteemed speakers, Inshallah.

For those who wish to educate their kiddies about Ramadan, JILC also has a special series for them:

it plays in our lives as Muslims.

Also for those in Dubai, Brother Zaid Patel will be conducting quite few lectures starting from TONIGHT:

And finally, last but definitely not last, our very own Sister Eman will be giving us a Ramadan Prep talk :
[For those of who in Dubai who have no clue who Sister Eman is, let me introduce her: She’s a very good sister, masha-Allah, who gives very heart-warming lectures based on the Quran and the Sunnah. We can all learn something from her, both with regards to knowledge and character. If you think I’m exaggerating, then attend one of her lectures and see for yourself.]
[Obviously, this lecture is for sisters only.]
[Click on the above link for location details.]
If anyone has any more information about lectures by Ahlus Sunnah, then please let me know.
