Website: Audio Islam

Assalamu Alaikum.

Do you know the great thing about audio lectures?

They’re great for people who have no time to read e.g. people who are always commuting or women who live in the kitchen.

Subhan Allah, we can attain so much benefit from them but unfortunately they are an underutilized resource.

For those who like to listen to audio lectures, here’s a nice, authentic (from what I can see) site that has loads of beneficial lectures (single and series) mostly in English (but also in Arabic, Urdu and Bengali):

It’s a good site with lots of varying topics and lecturers.

Ramadan Lecture Series for Sisters in Dubai

Assalamu Alaikum.

I just wanted to alert the sisters who may still be unaware that Sister Iman (I mentioned her in this post) is giving (free) talks throughout Ramadan. This is the schedule:

[Click on the image to enlarge its size.]

There are both morning and evening lectures.

The lectures sound fantastic, to be frank with you. (And knowing Sister Iman, they probably are fantastic. May Allah reward her greatly.)

For more information, please visit their website.

Please be sure to inform all the sisters that you know.

Jazakunallahu kheira.

Ramadan Forum 2010 Website

Assalamu Alaikum.

I mentioned the Ramadan forum in an earlier post.

It seems that they have Arabic lectures too. One of their speakers is Shaikh Muhammad Al-Arifi. He’s the author of “Enjoy Your Life”. You can download it from my other blog (it’s on the right hand side).

He narrated the funniest story that I have ever heard (a true story):

Here’s the email I got about the website details:

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

All praise belongs to Allah, Who has given us such a blessed month of Mercy and Forgiveness.

The Ramadan Tent in Twar, famous for their Arabic lectures for the past 8 years, will also feature English lectures from well-renowned speakers on the 11th – 17th of Ramadhan (21st-27th of August).

For those who are looking forward to the upcoming Ramadan Forum 2010: “Gathering to Succeed”, the official website has been launched in both English (click here) and Arabic (click here).

Information you can find on the site:

News and updates about the event
– All the events hosted by DTCM (Charity Caravan, Sonapur Labour Camp Iftar Tent, Blood Bank, Competitions, and more)
– Printer-friendly schedule (including dates, speakers, and titles of lectures)
Biographies of all the speakers
– Interactive Google Location map

… and much more!

You can also watch videos of last year’s Arabic lectures here.

Please forward to as many people as possible. Spread the word around and may you be rewarded for any person who attends and gains knowledge through your efforts.

Jazzakumullahu khairan.

Assalamu Alaikum.

Preston University in Ajman will hold their weekly Ramadan lecture tomorrow, insha-Allah.

Topic: Ramadan – For Self-Development

[Sounds good. If any of you attends, would it be possible to share the notes? Jazakumullahu kheira.]

[He’s a good lecturer, masha-Allah. I like his talks.]

Date: Thursday, August 19

Time: 9:45pm

[I think that they’ll pray Taraweeh in the university before the lecture. You can check  with them, insha-Allah. Either way, from what I remember about Ajman, they have lots of masjids with short taraweehs!]

Here’s a location map of the University. It’s the old campus of Ajman University of Science and Technology.

Please pass on the word.

Jazakumullahu kheira.
