Another Ramadan 2012 Prep Event for Sisters in Dubai…

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum.

Yes, another day, another event. For sisters in Dubai, that is.

[However, this centre does transmit many of their classes on Wiziq (for sisters only) so if sisters outside the UAE are interested in listening, they should contact them directly on their website mentioned below.]

Our very own Eman Al-Obaid, may Allah reward her, has a few talks coming up. [And one of them is actually going to be in Arabic at a time when I’m free. I’m stunned.]

Here’s the schedule from the Al-Huda Sisters blog:

Sunday & Monday (15th & 16th July): 9am-10:30am

*Ramadan with Faith*

Sunday Evening (15th July): 7:30pm – 9:30pm

*Ramadan: Means and Goals*

Location @ the Markaz, Umm Suqeim 2, Al Thanya Street, Villa 29

Tuesday, 17th July

8:30-10am:  Ramadan: A Symbol of True Servitude to Allah (Al Ubodiyyah) (in English)

10am-11:30am:  قلب الصائم (in Arabic)

Location: Al Nahdah, Dubai Women’s Association (Near Dubai Hospital)

For more information, please read this.

Once again, please contact them for all the details and not me.

Please pass on the word so more sisters can benefit, insha-Allah.

Baarakallahu feekunn.

The Ramadan Forum (in Dubai)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum.

I mentioned this one last year (it’s a yearly event).

They have lectures in Arabic (this is an Arab country, you know), English, Tagalog and Malayalam.

Here’s the website:

http://www.almultaqa.ae/index_en.aspx

To all Filipinos and Filipinas: Yes, the tagalog lecture is by Brother Omar Penalbar!

[And no, I’m not kabayan.]

To all non-Filipinos and non-Filipinas: Last year, at this event, 125 Filipinos embraced Islam after one of his lectures. Allahu Akbar. Here’s the article.

Arabic lectures during Ramadan

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum.

For those like me, who prefer to listen to Arabic lectures, here are two places which will have lectures in Arabic (after the Taraweeh prayers).

[Want English? I’ve mentioned some here.]

[Note to those outside the Emirates: All the lectures are being broadcast live so you can listen in. We are +4 GMT and the adhan of Isha is at 8:40pm so Taraweeh might tend at 10:30 pm, insha-Allah.

The broadcast link is mentioned in each flyer. The link in the second flyer (www.drosuae.com) will probably upload all the lectures the day after they take place, insha-Allah.]

Ramadan Forum 2010 Website

Assalamu Alaikum.

I mentioned the Ramadan forum in an earlier post.

It seems that they have Arabic lectures too. One of their speakers is Shaikh Muhammad Al-Arifi. He’s the author of “Enjoy Your Life”. You can download it from my other blog (it’s on the right hand side).

He narrated the funniest story that I have ever heard (a true story):

Classic.

Here’s the email I got about the website details:

______________________________________________________________

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

All praise belongs to Allah, Who has given us such a blessed month of Mercy and Forgiveness.

The Ramadan Tent in Twar, famous for their Arabic lectures for the past 8 years, will also feature English lectures from well-renowned speakers on the 11th – 17th of Ramadhan (21st-27th of August).

For those who are looking forward to the upcoming Ramadan Forum 2010: “Gathering to Succeed”, the official website has been launched in both English (click here) and Arabic (click here).

Information you can find on the site:

News and updates about the event
– All the events hosted by DTCM (Charity Caravan, Sonapur Labour Camp Iftar Tent, Blood Bank, Competitions, and more)
– Printer-friendly schedule (including dates, speakers, and titles of lectures)

… and much more!

You can also watch videos of last year’s Arabic lectures here.

Ramadan Lectures in Dubai (English and Arabic)

Assalamu Alaikum.

Dubai – Land of ……. Islamic Lectures?????????????

Who would have thought? The irony is that it really is turning into that. Alhamdulillah, there are lots of lectures and classes. And that too in different languages.

[Okay, to all those outside Dubai, I’ll stop rubbing it in. It’s just that I’m REALLY sick off reading online news where they make it sound like there’s no Islam in Dubai when I know for a fact that there is so much going on here in terms of classes.]

Okay, so here’s the list of lectures that will take place in Ramadan.

[Note No. 1: The English ones will be held in Twar so those in Sharjah and Ajman should think of popping in as well, insha-Allah.]
